Welcome to IICP Education and Training. We are delighted that you are considering a career in counselling and psychotherapy and our hope is that the website will help you become more familiar with the programmes on offer at IICP Education and Training and increase your understanding of the learner-centred vision of the Institute. The provision of a centre of professional and academic excellence for the training of counsellors and psychotherapists is at the heart of the Institute’s ethos.
IICP is unique in the field of psychotherapeutic training in Ireland. Our Diploma has recognition with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), the largest professional accrediting body. Our level 8 honours degree upgrade programme is accredited by the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC). In addition to the professional and academic accreditations, the Institute has an onsite counselling service (part-funded by the HSE and the FSA and has Charitable Status) providing clinical placements.

LEARNER PROTECTION ARRANGEMENTS IICP
The Institute’s policy is to retain all learner fees on deposit in a secure bank account. These fees are not drawn down by the Institute until the learners in question have graduated their programme with IICP.
IICP also have a financial bond in place for each registered learner which is renewed annually as part of the learner protection arrangements with HETAC.
If for any reason the programme were to cease, every effort will be made to transfer the learners onto an alternative programme in a recognised College, IoT or University. If such a transfer is not possible, Programme participants will be reimbursed in full with the fees which they paid to IICP.
IICP & VCS actively promote and utilise Children First Policy in training, education and counselling. Download a copy of the documentation below.
